The Martian – A book review

I’ve just finished reading The Martian by ANDY WEIR. It’s one of the most gripping stories I’ve ever read, and had me hooked from the start. One of those rare books that are hard to put down!

It’s all about an astronaut that’s stranded on Mars, with virtually no hope of being rescued. As he says in the very first sentence, “I’m pretty much fucked.”

It’s brilliantly researched on the technical side, and totally believable.

I would recommend it to all Nerds and anyone who likes a good thriller.

The book was made into a movie of the same name, starring Matt Damon.

The Author, ANDY WEIR built a two-decade career as a software engineer until the success of his first published novel, The Martian, allowed him to live out his dream of writing full-time.

He is a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of such subjects as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight.

He also mixes a mean cocktail, and lives in California.
